On November 27-28, 2018, the 3rd TEIN- CAREN Collaboration workshop “Eurasian knowledge belt” was held in Stanford Hotel, Seoul, Republic of Korea.
TEIN- CAREN workshops became a platform for valuable interaction between researchers of TEIN and CAREN networks. This time researchers had a chance to learn recent developments in such areas like climate change and environmental monitoring and exchange their best practices in e-Learning and IoT.

First day of the workshop, there were interesting presentations on environmental issues: Dr. Suhyung Jang presented water management and IWRM technology of K-water. Prof. Jai-Ho Oh covered the climate change with cases of seasonal prediction for 2019 in Central Asian countries. To share latest achievements of CAREN on environmental monitoring Prof. Askar Kutanov presented Sensor Data Storage System (SDSS). SDSS is a powerful open data source to evaluate the current hydrological and meteorological information. For both, Asian and Central Asian countries, it is very important to support sustainable water management.

On the second day of the workshop the latest IoT technologies and Cloud enabled services presented by Prof. Eui- Nam Huh. The day was completed with the visit to Seoul Cyber University guided by Prof. Goo-Soon Kwon with the impressive demonstration of e-learning facilities and powerful e-learning platform developed by Seoul Cyber University.

The theme of the workshop “Eurasian knowledge belt” reflects the main goal of the workshop by giving possibility to researchers to exchange information and discuss possible collaborations. It was agreed to have Video Conference in December 2018, between Seoul Cyber University and CAREN network leading Universities on e-Learning. Also TEIN*CC partners announced the 4th TEIN- CAREN Collaboration workshop which will be supported by TEIN*CC and Ministry of Science and ICT in 2019.
