This 5-day workshop is targeted at the network & systems engineers from tertiary education institutions (campuses) and national or regional research and education networks (RENs). Participants in this workshop will learn about:
- campus network design and configuration including physical infrastructure, switching and routing
- best practice techniques in the areas of core network operations and Linux/Unix system administration skills
- best practice techniques for managing the security of the campus infrastructure
- building proper instrumentation to monitor and manage the network
These skills will in turn drive an increase in campus network usability, security and reliability, as well as enhance the usability of CAREN and improving the connectivity to and engagement with the GEANT network community.
