March 18-20, 2019, Arianna Akmatova, Deputy Director of CAREN Cooperation Center (CAREN CC), participated on “DEVCO/ NEAR projects” workshop, initiated by GEANT with the aim to learn about new methodologies and rules of EU grants. Consultant – trainer from Welcomeurope Public funding consultancy, conducted the workshop.
GEANT staff from both Cambridge and Amsterdam offices, representatives of Regional projects as AfricaConnect2, EaPConnect, Asia@Connect, WACREN, UbuntuNet Alliance, ASREN and CAREN3 participated on the workshop.
The program of the workshop was quite intensive all 3 days where participants had a possibility to refresh their knowledge about EU procedures for grant management, application process of external aid programs and reporting principles with work on practical cases.
After completing the workshop all participants received personalized training handbook and one year subscription to the Eurofunding database.
Since CAREN CC intend to become the Center of Excellence for academic ICT services in Central Asia, it is expected that CAREN CC will apply for project proposals to donor organizations in the future. Therefore, the content of the workshop was very useful as well as the atmosphere where all participants had a possibility to share experience with other R&E Network representatives and discuss their current issues.
