Web of Science platform

1-2 of February 2018, Department of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic together with experts of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University organized a training on use of the Web of Science platform.
Representatives of research and education institutions, universities, National Academy of Science institutions were invited to participate at the training. The aim of the training is to provide more information about the Web of Science platform. Participants had a chance to get theoretical and practical lessons on working with the Web of Science Core Collection database, Journal Citation Reports, EndNote online and ResearcherlD information tools.
It is expected that as a result of the training, participants will be able to advise researchers how to work with Web of Science platforms, help them in selecting journals to publish articles, identifying the most relevant areas of research, finding potential partners for joint projects and sources of financing.
Reference: On December 27, 2017, the second agreement on cooperation for 2018 was signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuter’s division on intellectual property and scientific research). Under this agreement, all educational institutions and scientific organizations of Kyrgyzstan have access to the international science-based platform Web of Science.
In Kyrgyzstan, from January to November 2017, 33 universities and scientific organizations were connected, the number of requests on the Web of Science platform was 14,239 (38% increase).
