Second TEIN- CAREN workshop was held on December 13-14, 2017. The workshop was organized within cooperation of “Trans-Eurasian Information Network Cooperation Center” (TEIN*CC) and “Central Asian Research and Education Network” (CAREN) with the financial support of the Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea, on the premises of Tashkent University of Information Technologies. The workshop was attended by the President of TEIN*CC Ms. Hye Joo Yoon, Dr. Robert Jantz, CAREN project manager, Academician Askar Kutanov, Director of CAREN Regional Cooperation Center, Dr. Botir Usmonov, vice-rector for scientific affairs of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies and users of the research and education networks of Central Asia.
The aim of the workshop was to discuss the development of research cooperation between TEIN network and NRENs of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. Workshop presentations covered such applications as telemedicine, e-learning, e-government and disaster risk management. During the workshop, Mr. Yun Ho Choi, the administrative manager of TEIN*CC, informed that it is planned to organize the third TEIN-CAREN workshop in 2018, with the financial support of the Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea.
